Agriculture has been a big part of our family for generations.  We operate a potato, grain, and forage crop farm, including the fields surrounding Hawthorne Creek Silos and The Stordy. House.  Repurposing these three grain storage tanks into a unique getaway opportunity was a natural fit.  

   In the spring of 2025, we purchased three used grain tanks from another farmer in PEI.  We hired The Husky Builder to dismantle the tanks.  His crew carefully marked each panel, so they were able to piece them together and start construction of the cabins on their current site. The Husky Builder was the perfect construction company for this project!  Andrew Waugh and his team had the skills, knowledge, and abilty for problem solving needed.  

   Wheat, Barley, and Oats are the three traditional cereal crops of PEI (and our farm).  Like our silos,  the three grains have their own personalities.  These silos have been designed to compliment the Island’s traditional red soil, our natural forest products, and the family connection to carpentry and creativity.  We have promoted the growth of native plant species surrounding the silos and selected this site to be a part of our rural landscape.  As you look out the windows of the silos at the farm fields, the Lupins and the Hawthorn trees, you can relax and know you are where you are supposed to be.
